Bolt driver who robs passengers at gunpoint arrested

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 39 years old Bolt driver, Obinna Dike.

According to the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, the suspect was arrested by Operatives of C4i Intelligence Unit, based on credible information.

Eboka said: “On 10th August 2022, Operatives of C4i Intelligence Unit, based on credible information, arrested Obinna Dike, 39, of No. 72 Ibeto Road Port Harcourt, a bolt driver who specialises in robbing his passengers at gunpoint. One of his recent operations is at Evo Road G.R.A, where he robbed Boma Adolphus of the sum of N150,000 .00. He confessed to the crime and an investigation is ongoing. Exhibits recovered one Infinix Phone 6816 and one Toyota Matrix Blue in colour with registration No PHC 577 ALA.”

Similarly, the Operatives of Elelenwo Division, Rivers State Command, on the 3rd of July 2022, arrested Sadiq David, 23. He had a locally made double barrel Pistol with three live cartridges in his possession.

“After a preliminary investigation, the case was transferred to C4i Intelligent Unit for discrete investigation, which led to the arrest of 30 years old Hamisu Hassam and 26 years old Babangida Ibrahim at Yam Zone, in Oyigbo Local Government Area. They both confessed to the crime of robbing dispatch riders after their services. The investigation is still in progress. Exhibits recovered from them are one locally made double Barrel Pistol, three live cartridges, three motorcycles, a one-day long motorcycle with registration No AFR 918 ON, one Feiyan Carter Pen Motorcycles without Reg/No, Lifian Motorcycle without Reg/No, Toyota Corolla LE with Reg No. Rivers NCH 85 AE, Toyota Camry big Light with Reg No. Rivers KNM 851 FU, Toyota Corolla LE with Reg No Abuja GWA 605 CG, Toyota Camry Big Light with Reg/No Rivers BGM 880 SE, Toyota Corolla with Reg. No Lagos JJJ 472 DC and Toyota Corolla without registration number,” said Eboka.
