In line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Kano State Police Command has rolled out a robust community-centred sensitisation initiative aimed at tackling crime, thuggery, and illicit drug trafficking across the state.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has instructed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders to intensify public engagement.
The campaign includes visits to traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community leaders, as well as town hall meetings, school outreach programs, sporting activities, and the expansion of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV).
The Command reports that ongoing activities across its eleven Area Commands and seventy-eight Divisions are already yielding positive results. Community leaders, stakeholders, and citizens have been commended for their active support in strengthening crime-fighting efforts.
Speaking on the initiative, CP Bakori urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the Command’s emergency hotlines: 08032419754, 08123821575, and 09029292926. “Together, we can make Kano a safer place,” he emphasised.
The Commissioner also expressed appreciation to officers for their dedication and to the people of Kano State for their cooperation, calling for sustained collaboration to ensure lasting peace and security.
