In a landmark move to bolster inter-agency collaboration and deepen strategic cooperation, the Commander Army Garrison Abuja, Major General W.M. Dangana, today, Tuesday, May 6, 2025, paid a historic courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ajao S. Adewale, at the Command Headquarters in Garki, Abuja.

The visit, the first of its kind by any sitting Commander of the Army Garrison Headquarters to the FCT Police Command, underscores the growing momentum behind collaborative security efforts in Nigeria’s capital.

It comes at a time when multi-agency cooperation is increasingly recognised as crucial to confronting the dynamic security landscape of the Federal Capital Territory.

During the meeting, Major General Dangana lauded the Nigeria Police Force for its frontline role in ensuring internal security and emphasized the need for continuous collaboration between the military and police to effectively tackle emerging threats. He affirmed the Army Garrison’s readiness to strengthen existing operational ties and provide robust support for joint security initiatives.

In response, CP Ajao S. Adewale expressed profound appreciation for the visit, describing it as a “testament to the enduring bond and shared responsibility between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police Force.”

He noted that the visit heralds a new era of proactive engagement and enhanced intelligence sharing between both agencies.

The safety of the Federal Capital Territory requires more than dedication; it demands unity of purpose and operational synergy. This visit is not only historic, it is symbolic of our collective resolve to protect lives and property across the FCT,” CP Adewale stated.

The meeting concluded with both leaders reaffirming their commitment to sustained collaboration, mutual respect, and professional excellence in the service of national security.
