Commercial Driver Dies in Multi-Vehicle Crash at Cele-Oshodi

-

A commercial bus driver has died following a multi-vehicle collision at Cele inward Oshodi, Lagos, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed on Wednesday.

The crash involved a commercial minibus, locally known as a “Korokpe,” and a Toyota Tundra pickup truck with plate number EPE 554 YC. Preliminary findings by security personnel at the scene indicate the minibus driver died on impact from injuries sustained in the collision.

LASTMA operatives on routine patrol along the corridor swiftly moved to the scene, securing the accident site and managing traffic to prevent further disruption along the busy route. Working alongside officers of the Nigeria Police Force from the Cele-Ijesha Division, responders recovered the body of the deceased and released it to family members in the area.

The wreckage and all vehicles involved were evacuated from the road and handed over to the Nigeria Police Force for investigation into the cause of the crash and determination of liability.

Despite the significant disruption caused by the incident, LASTMA said its prompt response ensured the quick restoration of traffic flow along the affected corridor.

LASTMA General Manager offered condolences to the family of the deceased and called on motorists, particularly commercial transport operators, to exercise greater caution and comply with traffic regulations at all times. #Securitynewsalert.com
