In a proactive move to strengthen security within Kebbi State, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M. Sani, alongside his management team, paid a visit to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Basaura, Jega Local Government Area, on Monday.
During the visit, CP Sani addressed the combined team of security personnel deployed to the camp, urging them to remain vigilant while on duty. He emphasised the importance of teamwork and collaboration among the various security agencies and camp officials to ensure a safe and secure environment for corps members.
The Police Commissioner cautioned against clustering in one place, directing officers to demonstrate commitment, maintain an active presence, and synergise effectively with other stakeholders for a peaceful and successful operation.
Following his address, CP Sani held a closed-door meeting to review the camp’s security architecture. The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security, Alhaji Haliru Wasagu; Security Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kebbi State, Col. Hassan Ribah (rtd); Kebbi State NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Bala Dabo Kagarko; Commanding Officer, No. 36 PMF Birnin Kebbi, ACP Aliyu Abubakar Jega; and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, ACP Auwal Gummi Yakubu.
The discussions centred on crucial issues relating to the safety of corps members and the overall security framework of the orientation camp.
This initiative underscores the Kebbi State Police Command’s commitment to proactive policing and fostering inter-agency cooperation for the protection of lives and property.
