CP Rose Chollom Dung Assumes Duty as New Commissioner of Police, PSFU Lagos

 The Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Ikoyi-Lagos, has officially welcomed CP Rose Chollom Dung as its 32nd Commissioner of Police, following the elevation of her predecessor, AIG Okunade Ronke Nurat, fsi, to the rank of Assistant Inspector-General of Police.

CP Dung, an accomplished and seasoned law enforcement officer, hails from Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the former Bendel State University, Ekpoma (now Ambrose Ali University).

Appointed into the Nigeria Police Force on May 18, 1992, as a Cadet ASP, she commenced her career at the Abia State Police Command after completing her training at the Nigeria Police Academy Annexe, Kaduna.

Over her three-decade career, CP Dung has held several key positions across various commands and formations, including: Police Special Fraud Unit, Divisional Police Officer, Agbara Division, Ogun State, Commandant, Police Training School, Iperu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Admin), Ondo State, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Admin), Bauchi State and Commissioner of Police, Welfare, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

A highly trained officer, CP Dung has completed several strategic and specialised courses both locally and internationally. These include the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Strategic Leadership and Command Course at the Police Staff College, Jos, and specialised training on AFIX Tracker Automated Fingerprint and Palm-Print System, as well as Regional Training on Money Laundering and Financial Crimes.

She is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the International Association of Women Police (IAWP).

In her address during the handing-over ceremony, CP Dung thanked the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun,  for the trust placed in her. She pledged to sustain the PSFU’s tradition of excellence and professionalism while calling on the public and stakeholders to continue their support to enable the Unit to fulfil its mandate effectively.
