The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Ayuba Elkanah, on Tuesday 19th, 2022, presented the sum of N2.5 million, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba, to the next of kins of five late Police officers who died in active service.

Ayuba was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Department of Finance and Administration, Olubenga Adepoju.

The presentation of the cheques was in continuation of the IGP’s welfare Insurance scheme to families of deceased Police officers. The event was held at the Police Command Headquarters, Gusau.

The CP appreciated the IGP for his continuous concern for the welfare of Police officers. The CP described the gesture as timely, stating that the money will go a long way in alleviating suffering faced by families of deceased Police officers, and further assured that the IGP, Officers, and men of the Command will continue to put in their best in the discharge of their duty for sustained peace, security and safety of Zamfara State.

The CP, therefore, charged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, noting that, in the last 10 months, the Command had received similar cheques from the IGP 10 times and presented the same to the beneficiaries.

One of the benefiting families, Favour Peter, speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, thanked the IGP for the gesture. She promised that they would all use the money judiciously.
