Cyclist arrested for cable vandalism, theft

The Ikotun Police Station, Lagos State Police Command, has arrested 25-year-old Mr Demola Oladega for vandalism and theft of cable wires.

The Lagos State Police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, said that the suspect was arrested following a distress call from a security man attached to a company in Governor’s Road on the 16th of October, at about 6:30 am.

Hundeyin said: “The security guard said that he suspected an unusual movement of two young men on a motorcycle roving around the street.

“It was based on the information, that the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) immediately mobilised anti-robbery patrol of the division to the scene where the said Demola Oladega, 25, was arrested while the other suspect fled.

“The vandalised cable wires, one fairly used battery and a pongxing motorcycle with registration number KSF 854 QL were recovered from the suspects. Efforts are ongoing to track the fleeing suspect and investigation is ongoing.”
