A truck with the branded Dangote Company Plc logo on Thursday, the 25th of September, allegedly lost control and rammed into some shops and open kiosks in Ifo community in Ogun State.
Eyewitness accounts have it that some passengers on board a commercial bus were injured and rushed to a private hospital in the area for medical attention.
According to our sources, the truck driving inward Ifo from Lagos by a suspected underage driver, possibly from the northern part of Nigeria, allegedly lost control and rammed the truck at Mathew busstop, along the popular Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, Ifo in Ogun State.
Three locked-up shops, a danfo bus marked LND 613 JL, loaded with passengers driving inward Ifo from the toll gate, was hit by the Dangote truck with a failed brake. Our correspondent further gathered that a private Honda car marked EPS 471JJ was also affected, where the screen of the car was smashed.
A credible source in the area, who claimed to have witnessed the incident, said it occurred near Wema Bank and Deeper Life Bible Church, both in Ifo alleged that the driver of the private bus, hit by the failed break of the Dangote truck gave N5000 to either the driver or the conductor of the danfo bus, who was also affected by the auto_crash.
However, it was further gathered that the Dangote driver, who had willingly parked, came down from the truck and attempted to salvage the situation, rather than fleeing. When our correspondent visited the scene of the incident, a male police transport officer in uniform and a female officer in plain clothes were on the ground to mediate and salvage the situation.
