Delta CP Arrests ‘Tompolo’ At Oghara Town, Recovers Two Pump Action Guns, 24 Cartridges In Apartment

The Delta State Police Command said it has a 42-year-old suspected cultist identified as Abel Festus alias Tompolo.

He was arrested following the confession of his partner in crime, Stephen Oma Odu, 25. Odu, a suspected cultist, has been on the Police Wanted List for gunrunning and other crimes.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bright Edafe said that the police had a breakthrough and arrested the suspects following a tip-off.

He said: “Acting on credible intelligence, operatives of CP – Special Assignment Team ( CP – SAT ) at about 1:45 pm on 3rd of February, 2025, trailed and arrested a suspected cultist and gunrunner on the command wanted list named  Stephen Oma Odu, 25 of Obagho Community in Warri North LGA Delta  State at Sapele town.

“Acting on the strength of his confession, another suspected cultist known as Abel Festus, 42, aka Tompolo of Oghareki Community in Ethiope West LGA Delta State was arrested at  Oghara town.

“Upon search of his apartment, two pump action guns and 24 rounds of live cartridges were recovered. Two other suspected cultists were also arrested during the raid including Godspower Moses aka Power, of Kokori community in Ethiope West LGA Delta State and Oloriode Owebe, 24, of Oghareki community in Ethiope West LGA Delta State.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that they were suspected members of the Vikings’ confraternity. The investigation is ongoing.”
