Delta Police Deploys Heavily for Easter, Urges Residents to Maintain Peace

-

The Delta State Police Command has announced a robust security deployment ahead of this year’s Easter celebrations, assuring residents of a safe and peaceful festive period.

According to the Command, personnel have been strategically stationed at churches, event centres, highways, recreational areas, and other public spaces. Tactical teams and patrol units are also on standby across the State to deter crime and respond promptly to any security incidents.

Commissioner of Police, CP Yemi Oyenisi, directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Commanders to intensify visibility policing, sustain intelligence-led operations, and maintain a high level of alertness throughout the Easter period.

He further instructed officers to collaborate closely with religious leaders in their areas of responsibility and maintain open communication during and beyond the festivities.

The CP emphasised professionalism, urging officers to remain courteous and respectful in all interactions with the public.

The Command also called on residents to stay vigilant, report any suspicious activities or persons to the nearest police station, or contact the Command’s Control Room at 08036684974. Parents and guardians were specifically advised to monitor their children and wards during the celebrations.

Reiterating the Command’s commitment to the protection of life and property, CP Oyenisi appealed for continued public cooperation to maintain peace and order across Delta State.

The Delta State Police Command extends warm wishes to all Christian faithful for a safe, peaceful, and joyful Easter celebration. #Securitynewsalert.com
