Edo CP visits Edo CAN Chairman, solicits for prayers

The Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed A. Dankwara and his management team on Wednesday, 30th of November, 2022 paid a courtesy visit to the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Edo State and other leaders of different blocks of the Christian body in Edo State.

The CAN Chairman in his opening remarks welcomed the CP to Edo  State while he thanked him for all the proactive strategies emplaced by the command towards ensuring that the State remains peaceful and habitable for the general public. He appealed to the commissioner of Police for a continuous synergy between the command and the Christendom to achieve positive results in the state. He stated that the efforts of the command are highly appreciated in fighting crimes and criminality in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

The CP in his response assured the Chairman and all the leaders of various churches in the state of his unwavering commitment to ensuring that the state remains peaceful even as the year 2022 is coming to an end.

He assured them of continuous Police presence in churches, especially during Sunday services. He further urged them to continue to partner with the command by way of availing the command with credible information that will help in curbing the menace of crimes and criminality in the state, and also reassured them that all the issues raised during the visit will be implemented immediately.

In another development, the CP received the Field Security Co-ordination Officer (South West) on the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS), Mr Pavlo Baptista, the Edo State Co-ordinator World Health Organization, Dr Nora Emmanuel and the field Security Association (UNDSS) Mr John Adefuye in his office as they paid him a courtesy visit.

During the visit, they welcomed the CP to Edo State and also called for a continuous synergy and partnership with the command. The CP in his response assured the visitors of the Command’s open door policy for all and its readiness to avail citizens’ human and material resources whenever needed. He also encouraged them not to hesitate to reach out to the command when the need arises.

Also in attendance in both meetings were DCP Kunle Olusokan, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Administration, DCP Olawore Oluwola, the Deputy Commissioner of Police Investigation, CSP Olufunmilola Oluwaseun, the Divisional police officer Aideyan Division, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the Police  Public Relations Officer and ASP Jennifer Iwegbe the Deputy Public Relations Officer.
