Officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have urged Nigerian students to reject fraud and uphold integrity, saying young people play a critical role in building a corruption-free society.
The Executive Chairman of the EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, gave the charge on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, when students and management of ACAD System International School visited the EFCC Academy in Karu, Abuja, for a study tour.
Represented by Assistant Commander of EFCC (ACE I) Chidimma Amanambu, Olukoyede encouraged the students to maintain good conduct and develop strong moral values early in life.
He said integrity cultivated at a young age would strengthen the foundation of a corruption-free society. According to him, the visit aligned with the Commission’s commitment to preventive education and youth engagement as strategic tools in combating corruption and other financial crimes.
“The EFCC remains committed not only to enforcement but also to proactive engagement with young Nigerians,” he said. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders. Make responsible choices, shun fraudulent practices and serve as ambassadors of honesty for your families, schools and communities.”
Also speaking, Deputy Commandant of the EFCC Academy, Assistant Commander of EFCC (ACE I) Aliyu Yunisa, outlined the statutory functions of the Commission, noting that its mandate includes the investigation, prevention and prosecution of economic and financial crimes, as well as collaboration with local and international partners in the fight against corruption.
In his remarks, Deputy Superintendent of the EFCC, Angel O. Israel, warned the students about the consequences of engaging in economic and financial crimes and urged them to embrace integrity, accountability and patriotism.
“National development can only thrive where citizens are committed to ethical conduct and responsible leadership,” Israel said, urging the students to see themselves as key stakeholders in building a better Nigeria.
The visit featured an interactive session, guided tours of selected facilities at the Academy and a question-and-answer segment during which the students expressed strong interest in the Commission’s operations. #securitynewsalert.com
