Enugu Police Assures Public of Safety Ahead of NBA Conference

-

The Enugu State Police Command has announced a major collaborative security plan for the upcoming Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) 2025 Annual Conference. The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, recently held a meeting with leaders from various security agencies to finalize the arrangements, promising a safe and secure event for all participants.

During the meeting at the Command Headquarters, security chiefs from different agencies, including the Nigerian Army, DSS, NSCDC, and FRSC, agreed on a “massive, intelligence-driven, proactive, and collaborative deployment” of personnel and resources across the state.

CP Giwa stressed that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure a hitch-free event. He urged conference attendees and residents to cooperate with security personnel and remain confident in the commitment of law enforcement to their safety.

“The police and sister agencies are unwavering in their commitment to your safety before, during, and after the conference,” CP Giwa said. He also advised everyone to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity or individuals to the nearest police station.

The public can also report emergencies by calling the Police Command’s Control Room at 08032003702 or 08086671202, or the Enugu State Command-and-Control Center at 112, 09134666668, or 09134448093.

Among the notable attendees at the security meeting were Brigadier General Stephen Dogo (82 Division Garrison), Mr. Humphrey Ohikuare (DSS), Mr. Willie Elijah Etim (NSCDC), and Mr. Franklin Agbakoba (FRSC). Representatives from other key agencies, including the NDLEA, Nigerian Correctional Service, Immigration, and Customs, were also present.
