The Commissioner of Police (CP) for Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, has delivered a strong commendation to Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah following the official launch of modern technical crime-fighting equipment procured through the Enugu State Security Trust Fund.
The equipment, unveiled yesterday in Enugu, was described by CP Giwa as a “critical support and a true game-changer” that underscores the Governor’s consistent commitment to strengthening internal security and operational efficiency within the state.
In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, anipr, mnisma, the Commissioner noted that the deployment of these new assets will significantly enhance intelligence-led policing, improve crime prevention efforts, and ensure a swift operational response across Enugu State.
The advanced tools include long-range surveillance drones for aerial monitoring and crime tracking, ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests to improve the protection of operatives, and operational vehicles and motorcycles for coordinated field operations.
“The modern tools… will greatly aid in crime detection, tracking, aerial monitoring, improved operatives’ protection, and coordinated field operations,” CP Giwa stated.
CP Giwa reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to ensure the newly acquired assets are put to “optimal and judicious use” to guarantee improved security outcomes.
He further lauded Governor Mbah for his unwavering investment in security, recognising that security and safety are the foundational pillars of sustainable development.
In closing, the Commissioner appealed to the public to remain supportive, vigilant, and cooperative, especially during the festive season. He urged citizens to promptly report suspicious persons and activities, as well as share credible information that will assist the Police in maintaining peace and security across Enugu State.
