A mandated reporter has urged members of the Advocate for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN) to look into the case of one Mr Bassey in Cross Rivers State, who was accused of impregnating young girls and selling off the babies.
According to the mandated reporter, the latest, victim, Blessing, needed to be rescued, further revealing that so far nobody can account for or knows the whereabouts of two or more babies fathered by the same perpetrator in question.
The mandated reporter said: “Rescue is needed for a girl in Cross Rivers State. Mr Bassey impregnated his daughter and sold the baby. He later brought in a girl Blessing from Rivers State. The girl got pregnant, and he sold the baby.
“She gave birth to a second baby but the child is nowhere to be found. They are suspecting that the baby has been sold out. Blessing is not allowed to move out or interact with anyone. They are afraid that more girls will become victims and Blessing needs to be rescued and reunited with her family.”
