FCT Police Rescues BBN Winner, Ilebaye, Brothers After Brutal Assault By Father

-

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said it has rescued the winner of Big Brother Naija season 8, Ilebaye Precious Odiniya Emmanuel, 27 and her two younger brothers following an alleged physical assault by their father, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya, at Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said the incident was reported to the police at about 12:00 a.m. on May 9, 2026.

According to Adeh, officers from the Wuye Division, supported by operatives of the Department of Operations of the FCT Police Command, were immediately deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call alleging that the woman was being assaulted by her father.

She disclosed that upon arrival, officers discovered that the gate to the residence was locked.

Adeh stated: “After several attempts, access was gained into the compound at about 2:30 a.m. Ms Ilebaye Odiniya, who was found with visible bruises, was rescued alongside her brothers and rushed to the hospital for medical attention,” she said.

The police identified the rescued siblings as Godson Emmanuel Odiniya, 14, and Devin Emmanuel Odiniya, 10.

The Adeh explained that the children and their sister were later taken to Yabisam Hospital, Lugbe, alongside their father, who was also said to have sustained injuries during the confrontation.

The evacuation was reportedly supervised by the Area Commander Metro, ACP Ufomadu Georglyn.

Adeh noted that the siblings are currently under protective custody, contrary to reports circulating online.

“The rescued siblings are currently in police protective custody, contrary to the circulating publications being released online, while their father, who is also receiving medical treatment, remains in police custody,” Adeh stated.

She added that investigations into the incident are ongoing and that questioning of all parties involved would commence once doctors certify them medically stable.
