DG NAFIC Urges Troops In 81 Division AOR to Embrace Nigerian Army Welfare Schemes

-

The Director General of the Nigerian Army Finance Corporation (NAFIC), Julius Osifo, has urged troops within the 81 Division Area of Responsibility to take full advantage of welfare schemes established by the Nigerian Army for officers and soldiers.

Osifo made the call during a sensitisation lecture on the Nigerian Army Personnel Insurance Scheme (NAPIS) and other welfare initiatives held at the Hippo Officers’ Mess in Victoria Island.

Declaring the seminar open, the NAFIC Director General stated that the sensitisation programme, which commenced approximately four weeks ago, had involved visits to major formations and theatres of operation across the country.

According to him, the initiative was designed to educate personnel on the various welfare packages available to them.

“The aim is to educate officers and soldiers on the wide range of impactful welfare packages provided by the Nigerian Army,” Osifo said.

He described NAPIS as a comprehensive insurance scheme designed to provide coverage for personnel against service-related risks, including injuries, disabilities, medical expenses and death.

Osifo explained that the lecture was structured to enlighten participants on the scope of coverage, procedures for filing claims and benefits payable to next of kin in the event of death.

He also commended the Chief of Army Staff, Waidi Shaibu, for his commitment to improving the welfare of officers, soldiers and their families.

In his welcome address, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division, Adebayo Babalola, described the sensitisation lecture as “a vital assurance of care rather than mere administrative policy.”

Babalola, who was represented by the Commander, 45 Engineer Brigade, Mohammed Momoh, said the insurance scheme reflected the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting its personnel.

“The scheme represents a firm commitment by the Nigerian Army to protect its most valuable asset, which is its personnel,” he said.

He added that the seminar would equip officers and soldiers with the knowledge needed to access their benefits without delays or complications.

The GOC also expressed appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff for his continued support of the division and commended the facilitators for their dedication to personnel welfare.

Participants drawn from units and formations within the 81 Division Area of Responsibility were encouraged to actively engage during the lecture and share the knowledge gained with their colleagues.
