Four Suspected Cultists Arrested in Lagos Hotel, Guns, Ammo Recovered

-

Lagos police have arrested four men suspected of being cultists and hired killers following a raid on a hotel in Ajanmgbadi, Ojo Local Government Area, recovering three firearms and 13 live cartridges in the process.

The suspects — Emmanuel Nwokolo, 35, also known as “Oblo”; Ayola Israel, 39, alias “Essy Pawpaw”; Ebuka Nnamdi, 31; and Chinedu Okafor, 22 — were picked up on the strength of credible intelligence received by the Lagos State Police Command.

During interrogation, the four men allegedly confessed to being members of the Aiye Confraternity and admitted to carrying out a string of killings and violent attacks on residents of Ajanmgbadi and nearby communities.

A video found on one suspect’s mobile phone appears to show the killing of unidentified persons in the area, according to police. Searches conducted during the operation yielded two locally fabricated pistols, one revolver, and 13 live cartridges.

Police say investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the suspects’ criminal activities, identify other gang members, and arrest any accomplices. The four men are expected to be charged in court when investigations are concluded.

Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai commended the operatives involved and urged residents to keep sharing information with the command. He can be reached through the following emergency lines: 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, and 09168630929. #Securitynewsalert.com
