Four Workers Burnt Beyond Recognition As Fire Guts Bar

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that four persons, who were workers in the bar, located at the Baale Road, Olodi Apapa area of the State, were burnt beyond recognition following a fire outbreak.

The investigating Police team said that the charred remains of the workers were yet to be identified.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, while confirming the fire incident, explained that Tolu Police Division on the 13th of October 2024, received a distress at 7:50 am, that there was a fire outbreak.

Hundeyin said: “The distress call was received at Tolu Division that at about 7:45 am of the same day, fire gutted a Lounge And Bar, located at Baale Road, Olodi Apapa. It was based on the report, that teams of policemen and firefighters swiftly mobilized to the scene and the fire, which affected the whole building was successfully put out because of the effort of all the teams.

“However, four of the company’s staff, who are yet to be identified got burnt beyond recognition in the fire. The corpses have been evacuated to the infectious disease hospital in Morgue, Yaba for autopsy. The cause of the fire and the value of the property destroyed is yet unknown. Meanwhile, investigation is in progress.”
