Gunmen Abduct 15 NYSC Members Along Kogi Highway

-

Fifteen members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been abducted by unidentified gunmen along the Ofu/Itobe–Onicha-Igo axis in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State, according to Premium Times.
The incident occurred on Wednesday while the corps members were travelling to Abuja shortly after completing their orientation exercise at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
According to reports by Premium Times, referencing an interview granted to the Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) by a relative of one of the victims, the armed gang intercepted the vehicle carrying the corps members before whisking them away to an unknown location.
Security agencies have yet to issue an official statement regarding the abduction, and details surrounding any ransom demands remain unclear as of press time.
