The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora said the command has successfully rescued four kidnapped victims from those that killed two brothers in Ruwan Kanwa village in Jega Local Government Area, before taking captives.

The police became aware of the incident after Alhaji Bala R.K reported that the two brothers, Aliyu Usman and Suleiman Abubakar, were shot dead when the gunmen stormed his residence.

Kontagora said: “On the 2nd of November, 2022, at about 3:am, a gang of hoodlums armed with dangerous weapons, stormed the residence of Alhaji Bala R.K. of Ruwan Kanwa village in Jega LGA, shot the two brothers, Aliyu Usman and Suleiman Abubakar, and kidnapped four other people. On receipt of the report, a team of policemen swiftly rushed to the scene and engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel. As a result, all the kidnapped victims were rescued and taken to Aisha Muhammadu Buhari General Hospital, Jega, for medical attention. Efforts have been intensified to arrest fleeing culprits who escaped with gun wound injuries.”
