Police arrest two for printing counterfeit currency, recover N316,000

Two men, Bashiru Sani and Samaila Umar, have been arrested by operatives of the Kebbi State Police Command for printing counterfeit currency.

The Kebbi State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Magaji Kontagora stated: “On the 7th November 2022 at about 7:am, information received revealed that Bashiru Sani of Helende Village via Argungu Local Government Area, was seen in possession of counterfeit currency. Upon receipt of the report, a team of Policemen rushed to the scene and arrested the suspect with the sum of N316,000 counterfeit of N1,000 denomination. During the investigation, the principal suspect, Samaila Umar of Argungu LGA, who printed the counterfeit currency via a computer desktop was arrested in connection with the case. The suspects will be charged to court for prosecution accordingly.”

The CP also revealed that on the 9th of November, 2022, at about 7:PM, Rugga Aliyu of Mashekari Illela Kwaido, Augie LGA, reported at the Divisional Police Headquarters, Augie, that on the same date at about 12:PM, 19 years old Anas Dantalli of Nawada Illela Kwaido, pursued his daughters while they were rearing their goats and sheep in the bush. He grabbed one of them, and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her. The police later arrested the suspect.
