The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu,  headlined a major security milestone in Ogun State today, attending the commissioning of several landmark projects designed to bolster the state’s safety infrastructure.

The ceremony centred on the unveiling of a new operational fleet, including high-performance security vehicles and electric motorbikes. These assets are part of a strategic initiative to modernise the Nigeria Police Force and improve patrol efficiency within the region.

Speaking on behalf of the Force, the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, emphasised that the Inspector-General’s presence at the event underscores the strategic importance of security in the region and highlights the collaborative efforts between the Nigeria Police Force and state authorities.

“The presence of the IGP at this significant occasion further reinforces the Force’s unwavering commitment to national security,” DCP Placid stated. “The newly commissioned assets, including security vehicles and electric motorbikes, are aimed at enhancing our operational capabilities and will be deployed to improve rapid response and bolster patrol efficiency across the state.”

During the event, the Inspector-General commended the Ogun State Government for its proactive approach to security, emphasising the critical role of the Police Force in maintaining peace and order.

DCP Placid further relayed the Inspector-General’s reaffirmation of the Force’s dedication to working closely with state stakeholders and the Federal Government to address emerging security challenges.

“The IGP assures the public that the Nigeria Police Force remains vigilant and committed to protecting citizens, supporting national development, and ensuring a safe environment for all,” Placid added.

The Nigeria Police Force expressed gratitude to all dignitaries, including the Governor of Ogun State, for their continued support. DCP Placid concluded the briefing by encouraging residents to cooperate with law enforcement and report any suspicious activities as part of a shared responsibility for community safety. #Securitynewsalert.com
