On May 13, 2026, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, PSC (+), NPM, welcomed Her Excellency Ambassador Jainaba Jagne, Special Envoy for Children Affected by Armed Conflict (CAAC), to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The high-level meeting centred on reinforcing the protection of educational institutions through the Safe Schools Declaration and fostering collaboration with Save the Children International.
During the discussions, the IGP reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to safeguarding schools nationwide. He emphasised that adequate security measures and resources would be deployed to ensure that all learning environments remain safe and protected for children across the country.
