Three suspected interstate robbers have been arrested by operatives attached to the Zamfara State Police Command.
The Command revealed that the suspected specialised in snatching vehicles at gunpoint and usually target Abuja, Kaduna and other states.
The suspects have been identified as Mohammed Sani, 22, Bello Abdullahi, 35 and Magaji Adamu, 28.
Items recovered from the gang are one Beretta Pistol and one Hyundai vehicle, which is now in the custody of the Kaduna State Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (SCIID).
The State’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Superintendent of Police (SP), Mr Mohammed Shehu, said that the Police Tactical operatives of the Command acted on intelligence information, which led to the arrest of the suspects.
“The suspects belong to a notorious Car snatching syndicate who possessed guns for the purpose of snatching cars from innocent members of the public. In the course of the investigation, all the suspects confessed to several cars snatching at gunpoint in Abuja, Kaduna and Suleja in Niger State. They further confessed that all the robbed vehicles were either sold in Niger republic or Kano State before nemesis caught off with them and arrested by the Police,” said Shehu.
