Jimoh Credits Crime Reduction in Lagos to God, Police Teamwork, Public Support

-

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Mr Moshood Olohundare Jimoh, has attributed the command’s recent operational successes to divine intervention, the diligence of officers and men, and sustained cooperation from residents of the state.

Jimoh made the remarks while hosting members of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Western Zone, at the command headquarters in Lagos.

According to the CP, the commitment and professionalism of personnel under his leadership, coupled with timely intelligence from members of the public, have continued to put pressure on criminal elements, forcing many to flee the state.

He noted that public confidence in the police has improved significantly, as residents now provide prompt alerts on suspicious movements and criminal activities, enabling swift response by operatives.

Jimoh also acknowledged the support of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, and the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, particularly in the provision of logistics and equipment, which he said has boosted the morale and effectiveness of officers.

While appreciating the IEDPU delegation for monitoring his performance and paying a courtesy visit, the CP appealed for continued cooperation from both residents and visitors to ensure Lagos remains safe and secure.

Earlier, the Zonal Chairman of IEDPU, Western Zone, Dr. Musa Imoloba Owonikoko (PhD), commended Jimoh for what he described as outstanding leadership and dedication to crime fighting in Lagos.

Speaking on behalf of the Emir of Ilorin, Oba Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, the National President of IEDPU, Alhaji Abdulmumini Abdulmalik, and indigenes of the Ilorin Emirate, Owonikoko praised the CP for making the emirate proud.

“We commend you for your excellent work and pray for more promotions and continued success,” he said, adding that Ilorin indigenes living in Lagos have also received positive remarks from residents as a result of the CP’s performance.

Members of the IEDPU delegation included former Zonal Vice President, Alhaji Dauda Aduagba; new Zonal Vice President, Alhaji Abdulraheem Arishekola; Zonal Vice Chairman, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Baba; Zonal Secretary, Alhaji Olayiwola Saka Raheem Idaoba; former Zonal Secretary, Alhaji Ibrahim Adeshina Raheem; Zonal Assistant Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Abdulazeez Alege; Zonal Auditor, Mallam Jawondo; Zonal Financial Secretary, Mallam Soliu Adebayo Saka; and Chairman of IEDPU Yaba Branch, Alhaji Abubakar Ahmed.
