Jubilation as IRT Boss, Mohammed Sanusi, Elevated  to Commissioner of Police

-

In a significant milestone in his illustrious career, Commander in charge of IGP Intelligence Response Team (IRT), Professor Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has been elevated to the prestigious rank of Commissioner of Police (CP) in the Nigeria Police Force.

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Monday, personally decorated CP Sanusi with his new rank in a colourful ceremony held at the Force Headquarters, Abuja. The event was attended by senior officers of the Force, family members, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the academic-police officer’s remarkable achievement.
Prof. Sanusi, a rare blend of policing expertise and academic excellence, has carved a niche for himself as one of the few senior police officers in Nigeria who have combined active service with high-level scholarship. Over the years, he has demonstrated exceptional commitment to law enforcement, capacity building, and the intellectual development of the Force, contributing extensively to police reforms and professional training.
Prof. Sanusi’s promotion reflects the Nigeria Police Force’s recognition of officers who distinguish themselves not only in operational policing but also in intellectual and leadership contributions.
With his elevation, stakeholders in the security sector are optimistic that CP Sanusi will bring even greater innovation, discipline, and strategic thinking to his future assignments.
