Kano Police Arrests 11 Suspects For Attacking, Robbing, Inflicting Injuries On Citizens

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 11 suspects in connection with a thuggery incident that occurred on 26th May 2025, at about 10:00 pm in Medile Quarters.

The Command spokesman, a Superintendent of Police, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, said that the suspects, armed with dangerous weapons, invaded the area, attacked and inflicted injuries on innocent citizens, and robbed them of their belongings.

He added: “Prompt action by the police led to the arrest of the suspects, who are currently undergoing investigation. Upon completion of the investigation, they will be charged in court for prosecution.”

The suspects have been identified as Aliyu Ibrahim ‘m’ 21yrs, Abubakar Ya’u ‘m’ 18yrs, Ibrahim Kaulayi ‘m’ 19yrs, Ibrahim Murtala a.k.a Mai Rakuma ‘m’ 18yrs, Abba Musa a.k.a Giza Gizo ‘m’ 27yrs, Muhammad Dawud a.k.a Dan Besse ‘m’ 19yrs, Abdullahi Ibrahim a.k.a Tsoho Me Nama ‘m’ 38yrs, Jibril Abubakar a.k.a Abasu Kala ‘m’ 22yrs, Salim Musa ‘m’ 20yrs,  Zaharaddin Ismail a.k.a Gwan Gwan ‘m’ 20yrs, Abubakar Hassan a.k.a Meguda Dan Ta ‘m’ 44yrs

 

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, reiterates the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in the state.

He warns that all forms of thuggery will be dealt with decisively, and those found culpable will face the full wrath of the law.

 

“The Command urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. CP Bakori assures the public that the Command will continue to clamp down on all criminal activities in the state, ensuring the safety and security of lives and property. The Command appreciates the cooperation and support of the public and assures them that the suspects will face due process following the law,” said Kiyawa.
