The National leadership of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) has expressed shock and outrage over the tragic event that led to the death of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Rano Police Division in Kano State, CSP Ali Baba, on Monday, 26th May 2025.

The incident, which occurred when suspected hoodlums stormed the police station over the death of a criminal suspect, is a reprehensible act that undermines the rule of law and the sacrifices of our men and women in uniform.

The National Chairman of PCRC, Alhaji Mogaji Ibrahim Olaniyan, whilst extending his deepest condolences to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Kano State Police Command, and the family of the late CSP Ali Baba.

Olaniyan said: “We pray that Almighty God grants his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and that his soul rests in eternal peace.

“The PCRC condemns this dastardly act in the strongest possible terms and demands that the perpetrators be arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. We call on the relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible for this heinous act are held accountable.

“The PCRC reaffirms its commitment to supporting the Nigeria Police Force in its efforts to maintain law and order and ensure the safety and security of our communities. We urge all Nigerians to join hands with us in condemning such acts of violence and supporting our security agencies in their noble duty.

“We stand in solidarity with the Nigeria Police Force and the family of the late CSP Ali Baba during this difficult time. May God bless Nigeria and grant our security agencies the strength and courage to continue their noble work.”
