Kebbi Police Rescues Kidnapped Student Of Federal University

Acting on credible intelligence, on 10th April, 2025 at about 8:am, the Divisional Police Officer, Dakingari, mobilized a combined team of Policemen and vigilante to Dakingari forest for search and rescue mission.

While the operation was ongoing and on sighting the security personnel, the suspects abandoned their victim and took to their heels.

The victim Augustine Madubiya ‘m’ aged 23yrs of the Economic Department of the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, who was kidnapped on 8th April 2025 at Unguwar Jeji, Kalgo LGA of Kebbi State, was successfully rescued unhurt. He is currently responding to treatment at a medical facility after which he will be reunited with his family.

In view of the foregoing, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, CP Bello M Sani had commended the resilience, bravery and professionalism displayed by the Divisional Police Officer, Dakingari, his men and vigilante for rescuing the victim promptly.

The CP reiterated the Command’s commitment in safeguarding the lives and property of the peace loving people of Kebbi State.

In the same vein, CP Bello M Sani also paid an on -the -spot- assessment visit at the scene, after holding an important critical stakeholders’ meeting on how to effectively improve the security architecture of the ooff-campushostels of the University, with His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Sen. Abubakar Umar, Tafidan Kabi, alongside with the Vice Chancellor, Federal University ,Birnin Kebbi, Professor Muhammad Umar Zayyanu, at the University’s Council Chamber.
