CP RONKE NURAT OKUNADE TAKES BATON AS CP POLICE SPECIAL FRAUD UNIT LAGOS

The Police Special Fraud Unit Lagos is pleased to announce to the general public and stakeholders the formal assumption of duty by CP Ronke Nurat Okunade, fsi; as the 31st Commissioner of Police in charge of Police Special Fraud Unit Lagos on 9th of April, 2025 following the retirement of CP Godwin Ayotunde Omodeinde, psc, maps, on 4th of April, 2025.

CP Ronke Nurat Okunade, fsi, hails from Ogbomosho in Ogbomosho North Local Government Area of Oyo State. She holds a B.Sc in Psychology from the prestigious University of Ibadan. She enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police and upon completion of training, she was first posted to Ondo State Command where she began her police career and did her one year mandatory attachment.

During her illustrious career, she has served in different positions such as:
-Commandant Provost Department, Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos
-2ic Kawo Division, Kaduna State Command
-DPO Apapa Divison, Railway Command
-DPO Apata Division, Oyo State Command
-CSP Admin, Ondo State Command
-Acting Area Commander Ebute Meta, Railway Command
-AC Admin Lagos Command
-DC Admin FCID Annex Lagos
-DC Admin Cross River State Command amongst other numerous postings. Upon her elevation to the rank of Commissioner of Police, she was the Commissioner of Police in charge of General Investigation FCID Annex, Lagos.

She has attended various courses within and outside Nigeria including;
-Citizenship and Leadership Training
-Police Mobile Force Combat Training
-Intermediate Command Course (ICC)
-Human Rights Course
-Strategic Leadership and Command Course (SLC)
-Comprehensive Criminology Management Course
-Community Policing Course, and is a Fellow of the National Institute for Security Studies.

The CP, who was warmly received by officers and men of the Unit, in her remarks thanked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, for the opportunity given to her and assured of her commitment to ensuring that the Unit maintains a high level of professionalism in tandem with extant laws.

CP Ronke Nurat Okunade, fsi, further calls on members of the public and relevant stakeholders to render their support and cooperation to the Unit in the course of discharging its duties.
