Lagos Court Remands Popular TikTokker ‘Immunizer’ Over Alleged Cyberbullying Of Mohbad’s Widow

-

A Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja has ordered the remand of 27-year-old TikToker, Oladimeji Hammed, popularly known as “Immunizer,” over allegations of cyberbullying and online harassment targeting Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, the widow of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad).

Hammed was arraigned on a six-count charge filed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police. The prosecution alleged that the defendant utilised various social media platforms to publish harmful, insulting, and provocative content aimed at the 26-year-old widow. Hammed pleaded not guilty to all charges.

While the court granted the defendant bail, it attached strict conditions. Hammed must provide two sureties who each possess a bank account balance of at least ₦700,000. Furthermore, the court ordered that one surety must be a Lagos State civil servant, while the other must be a blood relative. Both sureties are required to present evidence of up-to-date tax compliance.

According to police prosecutors, the alleged offences spanned a period between February 8 and March 14, 2026. The prosecution stated that Hammed’s consistent dissemination of abusive communications exposed the widow to public ridicule, hatred, and threats.

This online campaign reportedly culminated in a March 15 incident where Omowunmi was publicly confronted and nearly physically assaulted by a mob.

Court documents reveal that the targeted posts began on February 8, 2026, when Hammed allegedly published Omowunmi’s passport photograph alongside claims that she intended to flee Nigeria before justice was served in her husband’s death.

On February 11, the defendant allegedly posted content suggesting the widow had failed to deny infidelity allegations during court proceedings. On February 19, he allegedly claimed that her private materials had been leaked online, followed by a March 14 video accusing her of maintaining a hidden agenda regarding her late husband’s affairs. The final count of the charge alleges that Hammed published nude images and other harmful content designed to humiliate the widow.

This case highlights the relentless online hostility Omowunmi has faced since Mohbad’s death on September 12, 2023. Although authorities have never charged her in connection with the singer’s passing, she remains a frequent target of intense public scrutiny and cyberbullying.

Mohbad’s death initially sparked nationwide outrage and global demands for justice. Subsequent police investigations led to criminal charges against auxiliary nurse Feyisayo Ogedengbe and Mohbad’s friend, Ayobami Sadiq, popularly known as “Spending.”

Both individuals are currently standing trial over allegations of reckless and negligent acts linked to the singer’s demise.

Prosecutors allege that Ogedengbe administered an unauthorised injection that triggered fatal complications, while Sadiq faces charges related to his role in the events leading up to the tragedy. Those proceedings remain ongoing.

For legal observers, Hammed’s prosecution underscores the growing real-world consequences of digital harassment, particularly against individuals navigating personal loss under intense public scrutiny.

The magistrate has adjourned the matter for further hearing.
