Lagos CP Visits Mushin Following IED Scare, Area Declared Safe

-

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, on Monday visited Mushin for an on-the-spot assessment following a reported improvised explosive device (IED) scare in the area.

According to the Lagos State Police Command, the visit followed a distress call reporting an explosion in the early hours of the day.

In response, operatives of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) Unit were immediately deployed to the scene to assess the situation.

Police authorities said the area was promptly cordoned off while officers carried out a thorough assessment, search and recovery operation. Following the exercise, the location was declared safe and free from any IED threat.

During his visit, CP Fatai reassured residents of the command’s commitment to maintaining security across the state and urged members of the public to remain calm.

He encouraged residents to continue their lawful activities without fear, assuring them that adequate security measures had been put in place to safeguard lives and property.

The Lagos State Police Command reiterated its commitment to public safety and called on residents to promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.
