The Lagos State Police Command has extended financial support to families of deceased officers, presenting 157 cheques worth ₦89,201,523.07 under the Nigeria Police Force’s welfare and insurance schemes.
The presentation ceremony, held at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja, was led by the Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, PSC, mnips, who emphasised that while no amount of money can replace the lives lost, the gesture reflects the Force’s commitment to honouring sacrifices made in service to the nation.
Speaking at the event, CP Fatai expressed sympathy to the beneficiaries and urged them to use the funds wisely, particularly for the welfare and education of children and dependants left behind. He assured serving officers that their welfare and that of their families remain a priority under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu,
The Command also expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General for the intervention, reaffirming that the sacrifices of fallen officers will never be forgotten.
