Homicide detectives attached to the Lagos State Police Command have arrested 38 years old Jimoh Soewu Jogbo, who allegedly murdered his mother-in-law because she threatened to expose his defilement of a 14 years old girl and then also killed a man to shut up from exposing the murder of his mother-in-law.

The wife of the suspect, Modupe Bolaji, on 14th of November 2022, at about 4:am, reported on the same date at about 1:30 am, she was informed that her husband, Ojogbo went to the church and attacked her mother, Fatimoh Muskilu, 49,  with a hard object and the suspect equally attacked and killed one Jamiu Sakire, 40, who saw him when he attacked Muskilu.

Securitynewsalert.com heard that Muskilu was rushed to Akodo General Hospital where she was confirmed dead.

The scene of the crimes was visited and photographs were taken. There were marks of violence on the two corpses and the suspect has been arrested.

Meanwhile, corpses have been deposited at Epe General Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, while confirming the incidents, said that the case will be transferred to State Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (SCIID), Panti, Yaba, for further investigation.

He also said: “Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect had carnal knowledge of a 14 years old girl, Oyeniyi Rofia, who is the younger sister of the wife. The mother-in-law promised to take up the matter with the suspect. But in an attempt to cover up the crime, the suspect embarked on the killings.”
