The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, has expressed sorrow over the crash of a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) ATR-42 aircraft near a naval base in Igbokoda, Ondo State.
In a message of condolence, the Senator sympathised with President Bola Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, over the tragedy.
According to the statement, 25 passengers and seven crew members lost their lives in the crash.
Senator Kyari extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. He also conveyed his sympathies to the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, and to all officers, airmen and airwomen of the Nigerian Air Force.
“May Almighty God grant the bereaved families the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and may the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace,” the Minister said.
