The Agency, which took to its XSpace,@naptipnigeria to announce the feat, said: “The Federal High Court Port Harcourt on Friday 16th February 2024, convicted and sentenced PRECIOUS EDET (Female) under section 23(1)(b) and 23(2)(b) of the Trafficking in Persons Prohibition Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015 which criminalizes the employment of a child as domestic worker and inflicting grievous harm.

“The defendant was sentenced to two years imprisonment, fine of  N200,000 and compensation of N100,000 to the victim. This marks the second conviction in one week for the use of children in domestic and exploitative work.”
