The Nigeria Police Force says it is fully prepared for the forthcoming Osun State Governorship Election, with personnel already deployed and strategically positioned across the state as part of security arrangements for the poll.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ini Iedu, made the commitment public in a series of statements following an address by the Commissioner of Police for Elections in Osun State, CP Samuel Erale Etaifo.
The PRO reaffirmed “the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to a peaceful, secure, transparent and credible election,” stressing that officers had been deployed across the state “to protect all citizens, voters, electoral officials, corps members and other stakeholders before, during and after the polls.”
In a separate statement, the Force said it “remains committed to ensuring a safe, secure and peaceful environment for voters, electoral officials and all stakeholders as Osun prepares to exercise its democratic right.”
As part of its election-day preparations, the Force has released a list of emergency contact lines for members of the public to report security concerns and election-related incidents:
