Nigerian Army Reaffirms Commitment to Tackle Banditry, Kidnapping

-

The Nigerian Army has reiterated its determination to intensify operations against armed bandits, kidnappers, and other criminal groups threatening peace and security across the country.
The assurance was given in Katsina during an event organised by the 17th Brigade of the Nigerian Army to mark this year’s West African Social Activities (WASA).

Speaking at the occasion, Army officials emphasised that the fight against insecurity remains a top priority, noting that the military will continue to clamp down on criminal elements to restore safety in affected communities.

The WASA celebration, a long-standing tradition within the Nigerian Army, serves as a platform to strengthen unity among personnel and foster closer ties with host communities. This year’s edition also highlighted the Army’s resolve to safeguard citizens and ensure national stability.
