Nigerian Army Recovers Rifles, Motorcycles in Delta State Raid

-

Troops of the 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force, South South, operating under Operation DELTA SAFE, have recovered seven rifles and two motorcycles during a raid in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The operation, carried out on June 4, 2026, was based on credible intelligence. The weapons and motorcycles were found in an abandoned police station within the Ibusa community.

Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, Commander of the 63 Brigade, praised the troops for their professionalism and urged them to maintain pressure on criminal elements in the region.

“Individuals and groups harbouring arms or engaging in criminal activities will face the full wrath of the law,” Shonibare warned, reiterating the formation’s commitment to denying criminals freedom of action in the area.

The raid is part of ongoing efforts to rid Delta State of criminal elements.
