NIS dismisses 8 personnel, sanctions 18 others

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has dismissed eight personnel and sanctioned 18 others for various offences.

According to the Chief Superintendent of Immigration, Kenneth Kure, in a press statement released on the 4th of November, 2022, the action was taken by the service against this personnel because of their gross misconduct and unacceptable behaviour.

Meanwhile, nine other personnel, comprising one Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II and eight junior personnel have been issued warning letters.

Furthermore, six personnel have been discharged and acquitted from the Corps for various offences committed.

In a related development, the Comptroller General has approved the redeployment of 100 personnel of the Corps. Also, some personnel have been ordered to face disciplinary actions for their involvement in some unprofessional and ethical conduct.
