NSCDC, LSSTF Strengthen Partnership for Critical Infrastructure Protection

-

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has reaffirmed its strategic partnership with the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) in safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure.

During an operational tour to the Lagos State Command of the NSCDC, the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr Ayodele Ogunsan, commended the Corps for its “distinguished role in Critical National Assets and Infrastructure Protection (CNAI-P), alongside other outstanding performances and security support rendered to the state.”

On behalf of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the LSSTF donated 30 ballistic helmets, 30 bulletproof vests, and raincoats to boost the operational capacity of NSCDC personnel. Dr Ogunsan assured that “more logistical support will be provided in due time,” pledging unwavering commitment to the Corps’ efforts in securing schools and protecting young people across Lagos.

“The Corps plays a significant and frontal role in school security and the safety of our children and youths, who occupy a strategic portion in the heart of the nation and particularly Lagos State,” Dr Ogunsan said.

The Lagos State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Adedotun Keshinro, expressed heartfelt appreciation to Governor Sanwo-Olu and the LSSTF for their continuous support. He emphasised that the donations would “boost personnel morale and encourage officers to do much more for the security and safety of lives and property in the state.”

The operational tour featured gallant field commanders and officers showcasing the newly donated protective gear, signalling enhanced combat readiness and preparedness of the Command.

The visit underscores the NSCDC’s operational strategy under the leadership of Commandant General Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, which emphasises collaboration, cooperation, and coordination in protecting Nigeria’s critical assets.
