Osun CP Meets EU-Backed Election Body, CSOs Ahead of Governorship Poll

The Commissioner of Police overseeing election security for the Osun State Governorship Election, CP Samuel Erale Etaifo, on [date] visited the office of the European Union–Support to Democratic Governance in Nigeria (EU-SDGN) as part of continuing stakeholder engagements ahead of the election.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Yiaga Africa, TAF Africa, the Kukah Centre, the International Press Centre, and the Nigerian Women Trust Fund.

Discussions centred on strengthening collaboration between election observers and security agencies, improving channels of communication, and ensuring a peaceful, credible, and transparent electoral process in the state.

Speaking at the event, CP Etaifo reaffirmed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to providing a safe, neutral, and enabling environment for voters, election officials, observers, and other stakeholders before, during, and after the election.
