The Nigeria Police Force has repatriated a Chadian national, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, wanted in her home country over the alleged murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh.

Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, said in a statement on Friday that Abdoulaye was arrested by operatives of the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB), Abuja, on August 5, 2026, at the Railway Quarters in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State after intelligence-led operations.

According to the statement, Chadian authorities declared Abdoulaye wanted over the alleged torture and killing of Saleh on May 3, 2026. The Court of Appeal in N’Djamena issued an international arrest warrant for her and an accomplice, Fatime Senoussi Mouktar, on June 22, 2026.

The Police added that the suspect is also linked to narcotics trafficking activities in Chad and fled to Nigeria after the alleged crime.

The statement said Abdoulaye was repatriated to N’Djamena on August 14 through Lomé, Togo, under bilateral police cooperation arrangements, following collaboration between INTERPOL NCB Abuja and INTERPOL NCB N’Djamena.

Commending the operation, Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, praised the INTERPOL NCB Abuja team for its professionalism and effective coordination with Chadian authorities.

“The successful arrest and repatriation reflects the Force’s commitment to ensuring that fugitives do not evade justice by crossing international borders,” the IGP said.
