Oyo State Reasserts Ban on Smart Devices During Exams

-

The Oyo State government has reinforced its ban on the use of mobile phones, smartwatches, and Meta smart glasses within schools, especially during examinations.

Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, Commissioner for Education, announced during a high-level stakeholder meeting at the Ministry of Education, emphasising the state’s commitment to maintaining integrity and discipline in academic assessments.

Students are officially prohibited from bringing phones or smart devices into schools and exam venues. School authorities are mandated to strictly enforce this rule.

Teachers, parents, and guardians are urged to monitor students to prevent exam malpractice.

“We must all work together to uphold the integrity of our education system,” said Hon. Olayiwola.
