Detectives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 27-year-old man, Chidi Ebere, in connection with the alleged murder of a commercial motorcyclist in Igbesa, Ogun State.

The incident occurred on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at about 7 a.m., when Ebere reportedly boarded a motorcycle operated by the victim, 36-year-old Sunday Ogbu, and attacked him in an attempt to seize the bike.

The struggle turned violent, drawing the attention of a witness who quickly raised the alarm.

The suspect was apprehended on the spot, and both the motorcycle and the knife used in the attack were recovered as exhibits.

The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation and prosecution.
