The Delta State Police Command said it has identified and arrested three policemen for brutalising and attempting to attack a civilian with a knife.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Bright Edafe, who shared the information on his Twitter handle, tweeted: “The erring police officers have been identified and summoned to the Police headquarters. The officer who brought out that knife is not a police officer but a Constabulary. They have been detained, and their orderly room trial will commence today.”
The three policemen were caught in a video, tackling a civilian to the ground and flogging him.
Before then, one of the policemen had whipped out a knife. Even after the victim ran into the bush, the policemen followed on his tail, still brutalising him.
This came just hours after the Nigeria Police Force dismissed three policemen for unprofessional conduct.
The actions of the policemen in the Delta State Command have caused a reaction, with social media buzzing.
