PSC, Lagos Business School Partner on Training, Police Recruitment Reforms

-

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has initiated a partnership with the Lagos Business School (LBS) to strengthen training and capacity building for its officials, as part of efforts to improve police recruitment standards in Nigeria.

A delegation from LBS, led by Mr. Victor Banjo, paid a courtesy visit to the Commission to explore areas of collaboration, particularly in the training of PSC personnel.

Speaking during the visit, Banjo said the engagement was aimed at fostering synergy in capacity development. He commended the PSC leadership under Chairman, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (retd), for restoring credibility to the Commission and enhancing transparency in the ongoing recruitment into the Nigeria Police Force.

Banjo also praised the Commission’s commitment to ethical standards and sustainability, expressing confidence that the current recruitment process would yield quality candidates for the police force.

In his response, PSC Chairman Argungu welcomed the proposed collaboration, noting that the Commission is open to partnerships that will enhance the competence of its workforce.

He reiterated the PSC’s commitment to recruiting qualified Nigerians into the police, stressing that the current exercise aligns with global best practices.

“Processes and procedures determine product or output,” Argungu said, underscoring the Commission’s focus on professionalism and transparency in its recruitment process.
