Fraudsters are increasingly using phishing links, fake websites, impersonation and deceptive transaction requests to steal personal information and money.
Everyone needs to be more careful when dealing with unexpected messages and online transactions.
Verify any communication claiming to be from your bank through the bank’s official channels before responding, clicking a link or providing any information.
Never share your OTP, PIN, password, token code, card details or banking credentials with anyone. Treat unsolicited requests for such information as a warning sign.
Do not click suspicious or unsolicited links received through SMS, email, WhatsApp, social media or other messaging platforms. Instead, access your bank’s services through its official website, mobile application or other approved channels.
A security-conscious customer also verifies transaction details before approving an OTP request. If the amount, recipient or other details do not match the transaction you intended to make, do not proceed. Contact your bank through an official channel if you suspect fraud or notice any unusual activity.
Be particularly cautious with messages that create urgency, promise prizes, threaten account closure or ask you to update your account immediately. Take time to verify before taking action.
